Poetry is my favorite challenge. Today, I decided to stretch my brain a little, and attempt to write a concrete poem, to experiment with form.
A concrete poem is one in which the arrangement of the words is just as important to the meaning of the poem as the words themselves. The words are arranged on the page to help create an image that has meaning to the poem. The following was my attempt. Be it as it may.
I screw up
mess up
slip up
fall
I will not
can not
do it
all
The Balloon
It hovers like a cloud
above the subtle flowing fields
of waving grass and golden daffodil.
could I reach to touch its colors proud,
and catch more than but minute glance,
Oh what a very happy circumstance!
Gone the cares of sad tomorrow
away with tears and sorrows
they hover just above
the glorious
clouds
