There once was a fictional guy in a movie who was told to do a crazy thing. He was told to build a baseball diamond in the middle of his cornfield. He didn't know why. He didn't know what for. All he knew was what he heard from the voice in the wind.
"If you build it, they will come."
He didn't know who would come. He didn't know how, and he didn't know when. All he knew was that he had work to do, and work he did! While his neighbors watched and gawked, he plowed down his corn and built a baseball diamond. It was totally irrational, but he had faith. And it turned out pretty awesome.
There once was a NON-fictional guy in real life that was told to do a crazy thing. He was told to build a giant boat in the middle of the desert! It was a cockamamie shenanigan getting ready for a flood in a place where they'd never even seen rain, but all he knew was what he heard from the voice in the wind.
"If you build it, they will come."
Who would come? He didn't know. When? He didn't know. All he knew was there was this thing called a flood coming (whatever that was), and that he'd need a giant boat for it. So, While his neighbors watched and gawked, he built a giant boat. It was totally irrational, but he had faith, and in the end, it turned out pretty awesome. (see the first book of the Bible for the whole story)
What cornfield are you standing in? What baseball diamond do you need to build? Whatever it is that you've been called to do, have faith that it will happen. God will provide. You may not know how. You may not know when. It may seem like a cockamamie shenanigan, but if God called you to it, he'll see you through it. Sometimes what God calls you to do seems impossible,
but God has something to say about impossible.
"...‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty." Zechariah 4:6
"With men it is impossible, but with God all things are possible" Matthew 19:26
Today, I'm standing in the middle of my own cornfield, and I don't see the baseball diamond yet. But I know I'm supposed to start plowing down the corn. I know I'm supposed to start working. Call me crazy, but "I just feel like something good is about to happen and brother it could be this very day..."
I just feel like something good is about to happen
I just feel like something good is on its way
He has promised that He’d open all of Heaven
And, brother, it could happen any day
When God’s people humble themselves and call on Jesus
And they look to Heaven, expecting as they pray
I just feel like something good is about to happen
And, brother, it could be this very day
