The Compass Points
Take this compass here in hand
and study how it moves.
Take this compass here in hand
see the circle that it drew
One leg must in the center sit
while the other wanders 'round,
but the two are never separate.
Where is one, the other can be found.
They never move unless the other does,
and when apart, they stay together.
For no matter where the other goes,
they lean on one another.
You and I are as the compass points.
I must sit as you go 'round,
but since our hearts are at the compass joint
our love in ever sound.

2007
I wrote this poem for Josh his freshman year at CRC. I had to stay behind....and I missed him.
