O Come O Spring

I heard the sound of Spring today,
her whisper in the wind.
I opened up my windows wide
a bid her to come in

The smell she brought was soft and sweet,
of grass and daffodils.
She wafted by but left behind
a heart with hope or' filled.

I saw her light through windows wide,
and felt her warm caress.
Her sun came out with jubilee
and laid the cold to rest

Oh come oh spring, oh friend I missed
and grace us with your smile.
Come take away the winter's nip
its cold, harsh winds beguile.
